A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi friend! Welcome to my world of health & fitness and my mom life. Looking forward to connecting with you.... I'm a stay at home mom of 3, wife, Stay at home mom turned entrepeneur, Group Fitness Instructor, American Heart Association National Spokesperson and Volunteer, heart health advocate and Team Beachbody Coach. 

In the Summer of 2010, after having my 2nd baby I became very very overweight and starting to feel depressed and embarrassed about my heavy weight. I dedided to make a change. I became a weight loss Success Story. Lost 80 lbs and found my joy in the process. have a passion for helping other people- whether it be health and fitness, clean eating or growing as an entrepreneur- I truly believe that this is my calling in life!

I struggled with confidence and self-esteem. My cholesterol was high, I would get out of breathe bringing the clean laundry up to the second floor.

My husband and I went through financial struggles, I felt frustrated at my inability to provide an extra income for the family since I was limited in what I could do having 3 kids to care for at home. We have been at rock bottom.

I needed a change! Completely took charge and changed my life and my family's future keeps looking better and better.

I knew I had to take charge and needed to make a change, because I was stuck and it didn't feel good.

I have built a business from my phone and home computer. I scheduled my working hours around nap times and my hubby's work schedule. I own my schedule. I am my own boss!

BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL PULLING

As I complete day 2 of the oil pulling adventure, I have to say I am really excited and hopeful about making it a daily thing.  The benefits it promises seem countless as I read more on how the coconut oil and it's composition works, and how it helps with dental/gum health and even further, the fact that dental health contributes largely to heart health.  
Tell me it helps with heart health and I'm there.  I come from a family of unfortunate losses due to heart disease, runs in my blood.... and as much as i exercise and eat healthy, I am pretty good with my teeth cleaning routines but still find my teeth building lots of plaque. and I also suffer from sensitive teeth. Since my alst dentist visit she recommended I stopped the Total Advanced Whitening toothpaste becuase it was pretty much destroying my tooth enamel so now that im using the one special for sensitive teeth, which has no whitening ingredients, I am noticing my teeth getting a little less white. The coconut oil pulling claims to also help with teeth whitening and sensitivity. 
 Oil pulling comes from the process of the oil "working" in the mouth by pulling, pushing, and sucking it through the teeth. This type of oral therapy has its origins in Ayurvedic medicine dating back thousands of years. 
The procedure involves rinsing (swishing) around your mouth, approximately one tablespoon of oil. As the oil hits your teeth and gums, microbes are picked up as though they are being drawn to a powerful magnet. Bacteria hiding under crevices in the gums and in pores and tubules within the teeth are sucked out of their hiding places and held firmly in the solution. wow!!! Sound disgusting and intriguing at the same time. lol 
I've read that we could pretty much use any type of vegetable oil but that Coconut oil is preferred because 50% of the fat in coconut oil is comprised of the bacteria whooping ingredient lauric acid. pretty sure it's the best tasting one. Lauric acid is very well known for its antimicrobial actions; it inhibits Strep mutans that are the primary bacteria that cause tooth decay. No wonder why they say it helps in prevention of tooth decay. Super interesting. 
Experts say there is no question that oil pulling lessens the bacterial load in the mouth. As we all know, the mouth is the gateway to the body. When you consider the fact that a clean mouth may have between 1,000 and 100,000 bacteria on each tooth, and those that do not have a clean mouth may have between 100 million and a billion bacteria on each tooth, surely oil pulling can’t hurt? I know the immune system would appreciate a little coconut oil as part of a regular routine. 
All I can think now is why the heck didn't I Google this before... Why did I wait so long?? Anyway.... wanted to share my experience and why I'm doing it with you.... stay tuned for more updates.... better yet... try it yourself and let me know how it goes...  

Step by Step: 
1. Ideal time is the morning, on an empty stomach, before drinking or eating, place 2-3 teaspoons of coconut oil in your mouth, making sure not to swallow.  The morning is the ideal time to oil pull because your bacteria levels are the highest and you’ll have the greatest potential for detoxification. Opt for an unrefined and cold pressed so you will get the most benefits. I've been using Organic Virgin Oil from Costco, but you can find it at any food store nowadays. 
2. Swish the oil around your mouth for 15-20 minutes like you would a regular mouthwash. Do not gargle the oil and do not swallow. It will be full of the toxins and bacteria it just pulled so you really don't want that to go back into your system.  
3. After 15-20 minutes, spit the oil out into the garbage can, not the sink, to prevent the pipes from clogging from the hardening of the oil. 
4. Brush your teeth, tongue and gums.
5. Rinse with warm salt water. I use 1/4 teaspoon himalayan sea salt mixed in 1/4 cup warm water. 
Notes: In the beginning, you may have a hard time swishing for 15-20 minutes. If you are having difficulty, just oil pull for a few minutes and work your way up. You also may want to start with a smaller amount of coconut oil and work your way up. Even though the morning is the ideal time to oil pull, anytime during the day or night that you can fit time in to oil pull will be very beneficial!  I've read from some people they do it while they take a shower.

  • Reduced plaque on the teeth
  • Reduced bad breath
  • Decreased joint pain and stiffness
  • Reduced liver and kidney stress
  • Reduced chemical load
  • Reduced risk of gum disease
  • Increased whitening of teeth
  • Increased mental awareness
  • Increased overall physical health
Should I say more? give it a shot.... we have nothing to lose.... wait, yes we will lose a lot... lots of bacteria.... happy pulling! :)

Coconut Oil Pulling

Saturday night, almost 11 pm, actually about 20 minutes before 11 pm and hubby decides to mention about this new thing he read about while looking for ways to treat rescinding gums. So me being the impatient person I am, I said let's do it now. He insisted we started tomorrow, but I always win. So we did it today. :) he is just too cute.

Anyway, we grabbed a tablespoon of coconut oil each and in our mouths it went. 

20 minutes later, after a few swishing rounds, we put it out in the garbage. The reason for this is number 1, because you don't want to clog the sink note that we read on a few sites that we should get water with salt to rinse so have that ready on the counter.  We put Himalayan salt in ours and then brush your teeth as usual. 

So far we have noticed very silky lips and teeth feeling sooooo smooth! .

Fried MacnCheese? Who thought this would be a good idea?

Burger King launched on Wednesday a new menu item — deep-fried macaroni and cheese sticks with a Cheetos coating — aka Heart attack waiting to happen, not too long after it added chicken fries and hot dogs to its regular menu. 

The burger joint is hoping that the Mac n’ Cheetos item, which sells for $2.49 for five pieces, will boost its sales.

If God brought me to it, he will help me get through it

There are some Challenging days ahead of me. I've been given an opportunity that I don't feel deserving, it's all Gods grace. I can't find any other explanation.  

Challenging days for us as a family but as always Team Chavez stays strong together with daddy by our side. 

I have said yes to an opportunity I don't feel deserving but I'm going to give it my all because I know it will have a huge impact in soooo many lives and it will allow me to fulfill my passion of helping others at a bigger scale. Flipping awesome!!! So exciting!! It gives me the chills!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 

I needed to clear my mind and be mom, no thinking, no worrying, not doubting.... Just being mommy of these locos!!! We had such a great night shopping... Running around, eating pizza and being silly. 

All I need now is hubby to get home and a yellow of wine to celebrate this decision. And the rest, leaving it in God's hands. If this is what he wants me to do, I am willing to make all the sacrifices required.

How to keep The motivation up


God morning! Early wake up for me today! Got some work things done early before heading out to the pool with the kiddos but I really wanted to share some thoughts with you before I go. Read up :)  cause I get a lot of messages and questions on how I stay motivated... With my business with my workouts, with my healthy eating.... 

Motivation comes down to three basic things. 

#1: take action, Go slow and steady.  Little, basic steps every day is key. Taking one day at a time and not expecting overnight results. Any change, if it's really meaningful, is going to take time. 
 
#2: Be your #1 cheerleader talk to yourself with affirmations.  We can talk ourselves out of anything. Seriously. We convince ourselves of why we shouldn't do the little things, even though we really want to accomplish that big goal. Just do something that's going to propel you forward and start moving and motivating you. Give yourself some credit would ya! 

#3: Surround yourself with people on the same journey as you. Doing this alone is hard. Find a small group of people who have the same or similar a goals and dreams and collaborate, two minds think better than one. I call them success partners... They will help you, support you and push you when you don't want to. And they will celebrate your success.
 
#4 don't give up so easily. Be consistent, be relentless, stay focused and never give up. There will be bumps you will have to overcome but keep the faith, God didn't put this dream in your heart and not give you the right tools, skills and people for you to accomplish it. 

If you wait for motivation to show up before you actually do anything, then you are going to be waiting for a very long time. Just do it.

Do NOT give up! Don't be a quitter! Don't let your excuses get in the way of something you are trying to accomplish and always take it one day at a time.....just do YOUR best. That's what matters. ❤ progress not perfection! 

I'm busy, we are all busy but there is always time for a quick workout! I made this commitment to myself to constantly be trying to improve and I will never give up on that! Some days are better than others, stop being so hard on yourself, expecting perfection, and talking yourself out of it cause it's not "perfect". 

Now if you excuse me, I will attempt to push play and get my sweat on, for the next 35 minutes in the hotness of my garage. I really don't like to do it at this time but I am committed and when I commit 100% into something, dude there is nothing getting on my way! Not even myself.

22 MINUTE HARD CORPS RESULTS --test group participant--

Guys, so excited to share with you my results with 2 rounds of 22 Minute Hard Corps, You can also Get “boot camp fit” in only 22 minutes a day with this military inspired workout! Tony Horton has put together this 8-week program that will leave you in possibly the best shape of your life. Piyo & Insanity in Lake Nona

I run for them!



Went for a run with the boys of the house. Hubby ran pushing Diego in the stroller, Danny biked and I ran. I am so embarrassed to admit I haven't hit the pavement in a long time! The heat is crazy but wasn't too bad. Lots of stops to help little buddy on his bike. So proud of him. He pushed till the end. 
3 more days of school!!! And then we can do these activities more often. So excited! 6 years ago I wasn't in a fitness condition that would allow me to be running along with my son riding a bike. I was so heavy and tired. The total opposite of the person I am today. 

My kids motivate and inspire me to continue on with this lifestyle and not give up. 

Don't do this for the scale or the mirror. Do it for your health and energy. Do it to enjoy more active moments with your children or future children. Do it to be able to say to yes to life. Do it to be able to live a longer life.
